High School Student Enrollment

If you’re a qualified high school student, you can get a jump start on college by enrolling in “concurrent” classes at SFCC. This way, you can see what college is like, start working on your associate's degree, or simply enroll in college-level courses that spark your interest. Best of all, you can earn both high school and college credit for the classes you complete at SFCC.

Concurrent Enrollment

Concurrent Enrollment allows eligible high school students currently attending public, private, or home schools to simultaneously enroll in college during the fall, spring, or summer semesters. With SFCC’s open admissions policy, students need only meet course or program prerequisites in order to enroll. Fitness classes are open to students 16 years and older with parental permission. If English and/or math prerequisites are specified, students take Course Placement Evaluation to determine their skill levels.

Dual Credit

Dual Credit allows high school students currently attending eligible area high schools to enroll in SFCC for fall or spring courses. The student receives both college and high school credit allowing them to apply the credits to their high school graduation requirements. SFCC Community Outreach staff works with high school counselors who determine students for dual credit. Outreach staff then registers students into course sections that are open. Grades earned through dual credit are posted on students’ permanent high school and college transcripts.
