School of Arts and Design - Fine Woodworking (WOOD)

Certificate (CERT)

About the Program

woodworkingThe Fine Woodworking program teaches students standards of fine craftsmanship, inspired design, and an entrepreneurial spirit for a woodworking venture.

The coursework includes a strong emphasis on design, construction techniques, and problem solving. Students learn a blend of machinery skills and traditional hand-tool expertise.

The Fine Woodworking program features:

  • Well equipped studios with modern machinery and hand tools comparable with those used in a small woodworking business.
  • Small class size assures individual attention.
  • Courses taught by accomplished woodworking professionals, Monday through Saturday, morning, afternoon, and evening.

woodworkingStudents are prepared for self-employment, for positions in the craft industry, or for continued study toward a bachelor's degree at a four-year institution.

This program is available as a certificate and as a concentration in the AAA in Professional Crafts degree.
