Physical Sciences Associate in Science (AS)
About the Programs
If you're driven by intellectual curiosity, if "why" is one of your favorite words, then you are already on your way to being a scientist. The Santa Fe Community College biological/physical science program is designed to prepare you to move on to a university and earn a bachelor's degree in the biological or physical sciences. Studies in biology focus on life science and medicine, as well as ecology. The physical sciences focus on chemistry, physics and geology. Chemistry and physics can be used for medicine research specialties, while geology is related to the earth and atmosphere.
The courses are patterned after the lower-division courses at universities so you'll get the required general education courses, plus the core science requirements in biology, chemistry and physics.
