Public Programming - March & April 2010

Public Programming at the Planetarium - 2010

 

Tickets are $5 for adults; $3 for preteens and seniors; and free for SFCC students, SFCC employees and planetarium members.


Tickets go on sale at the door 30 minutes before each program. Shows begin promptly; latecomers are not admitted.


All children must be accompanied by an adult. Regular programs are not suitable for children under 5 years old.

2nd at 7-8 p.m. - Backyard Astronomy
Enjoy a live presentation in the planetarium followed by an outdoor viewing of the night sky, if weather permits. 

4th at 7-8 p.m. - Echoes of the Night
This program features a selection of Native American stories.

11th and 18th at 7-8 p.m. - The Night Sky
Explore the northern New Mexico night skies with these programs - a perfect way to learn more about astronomy the easy way.

  • Stellar magnitudes
  • Constellations and monthly star charts
  • Celestial coordinates

6th at 8-9 p.m.- Backyard Astronomy

15th and 22nd at 8-9 p.m. - Our Solar System
Learn about our natural satelite, the Sun and the planets.

  • The Moon and the Sun, eclipses and occultations
  • The Planets and others objects (asteroids and comets)
  • Astrophotos
