Retention Data

Retaining students to graduation is considered by most SFCC faculty, staff, and administrators to be one of the most important goals of the college (College Employee Satisfaction Survey 2006). Tracking the success of our degree-seeking students and those subgroups we are targeting for special attention is an important aspect of increasing retention and graduation rates.

The tables and charts available here present the history of full time degree-seeking student retention at SFCC, which indicates recent improvements in these rates.

One of the frustrations facing most 2-year institutions like SFCC is that most currently available comparative data focuses on full-time students who represent a very small portion of their, and our, total enrollment and tracks these students over a relatively short time period.

The college has recently entered the Consortium for Student Retention Data Exchange at the University of Oklahoma which will provide better data over longer time periods. This data will appear here when available.
