Office Of Information Technology - Technical Support
Help Desk
The Help Desk is a support team within OIT User Services that serves students, faculty, and staff at SFCC. The goal of the Help Desk is to provide a primary contact center for students, faculty and staff to obtain effective service, support and training, as well as act as a tool for fostering an effective use of information technology in all areas of the campus.
The Help Desk strives to provide exceptional technical support to the college community by serving as your first point of contact when reporting any issues concerning campus technology. Staff members are available to answer calls during normal SFCC office hours and during extended hours evenings and weekends.

Online Services
JACK, the SFCC online portal is a unified gateway to all institutional, web-based services for students, faculty, and staff. These services include:
- online registration
- announcements
- student groups
- online communities
- web-enhanced courses
- ...and more.
Computer Accounts
Every student, faculty and staff member is provided a JACK username and password. This username allows access to campus email, online registration, the lab computers, and the wireless network. The JACK username format is firstname.lastname. For example, if your name is Peter Venkman, your JACK username is peter.venkman. You can lookup your JACK username on the JACK login page by using your Student ID (referred to as your "A" number).
All enrolled students, faculty and staff have an SFCC email account. Your email address is yourusername@sfcc.edu. For instance, if your username is peter.venkman, then your email address is peter.venkman@sfcc.edu. Although you may already have a personal email account, using your SFCC email will give you access to more information.
Online Classes
Blackboard is a web-based course-management system designed to allow students and faculty to participate in classes delivered online or use online materials and activities to complement face-to-face teaching. Blackboard enables instructors to provide students with course materials, discussion boards, virtual chat, online quizzes, an academic resource center, and more. The degree to which Blackboard is used in a course varies. For example, instructors may supplement an on-campus class by putting their syllabus and handouts on their course sites. In contrast, other courses may be conducted entirely through Blackboard, without any on-campus sessions.
Students and faculty can access Blackboard whether on or off campus via the Internet at bb.sfcc.edu using most web browsers.
