On-line CatalogThe library collection is made up of more than 50,000 items, including books, maps, and periodicals, DVDs, videos, music CDs, and audio books.

The online catalog is available for accessing collection and can be viewed at http://libros.unm.edu. Within the library, the staff can help you use the online catalog to find materials.

During the semester, SFCC Library's reference desk is staffed with qualified librarians that can answer questions, help find resources, explain how the library works or demonstrate how to use the library's databases. Stop by, say hello and let us know how we can help you.

The circulation desk, or library front desk, is a central location for information, reference assistance, reserve materials, interlibrary loans, and library passports. Library materials are checked out and returned at the circulation desk.

Book returns are at three locations on campus: in the library in front of the circulation desk, in hallway of the main entrance located near the information desk, and a curbside return located near the steps leading to the main entrance to the campus.

Reserve materials, materials held by instructors for their students, are located behind the circulation desk. Most reserve materials are for use in the library only.

Photocopies are available from a self-serve copy machine in the library at 5 cents per page. The machine makes change; the library does not provide change.

VCR/DVD players are located in several study carrels and in study rooms in the library.

Audio tape players are available at the circulation desk.

Library usage: currently enrolled students with a photo ID are allowed to check out up to eight items at a time. See our borrowing policy for more information.

Electronic resources are available to students in the library or by remote access. Article databases, such as FirstSearch and Infotrac are collection of databases containing citations, abstracts and full texts of articles. Internet access is available on library computers. Library staff can provide research assistance.

Periodicals (magazines, journals and newspapers) Most current issues are displayed in alphabetical order in the reading room located to the right of the main entrance to the library. Past issues are in alphabetical order in the upper level periodicals area.

A microfiche and microfilm reader is available in the library. Print can be made for $0.10 per copy.

The Special Collection in the Santa Fe Community College Library Rare Books room contains over two thousand volumes of Native American, Mexican, New Mexican and Southwestern United States materials. Many of the materials are rare or out of print. Special collection materials may be located using the library's online catalog, LIBROS, and is available for use within the library with the presentation of a Student ID or other photo ID.

The Art Reference room at Santa Fe Community College is a collection of art books and resources available for the SFCC community to use. A reference collection, the materials are available for use within the library.

Study rooms are available in the library on a first-come, first-serve basis with a two-hour limit. Patrons must sign in at the circulation desk.

Library Passports for accessing other academic libraries are available at the circulation desk. The library issues passports only to current Santa Fe Community College students, faculty and staff. The patron's record must be in good standing.

Inter library loan request forms for books or articles are available at the circulation desk or on the Web. SFCC Library Online
